Do I qualify to appear for the VCP exam.

Dear Experts,

as you can see below I took the vsphere v6 training few years ago.

do you think this - may help me to take the VCP exam directly and get the certificate.

as one of the criteria is to get trained and then to appear for the exam. - do I fullfill this criteria?

appreciate your help.

According to the online Required Attended Courses it must be version 7.

Maybe you could plead your case with someone in education, but a version 6

doesn't quality by default.

Hi,

You can check the certification track on the VMware Certification website:

VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization 2021 (VCP-DCV 2021)

But there is mainly one recommendation:

  1. Gain experience with vSphere 7
  2. Attend a training course (several courses to choose, one course is a requirement)
  3. Pass the VCP exam

Depending on the VCP certification you already have, step 2 and 3 can differ.

Best regards,
Karl

Because you sat your course more than a year ago you'll have to sit another course from VMware Education.  I recommend the on-demand version of the vSphere What's New class.  It will help you to get skilled up on vSphere 7.  Let me restate: no matter what you do, you will have to take another class.

https://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/courses.cfm?ui=www_edu&a=one&id_subject=93887

From there you'll be able to sit for the VCP-DCV 2021 exam.

Good luck,

Joe
