don't auto start VM in VMware

Hi guys. Please help me. Not start automatically virtual machines. The settings are all included. Tell me where to dig, what logs to look at?

Tested for this article http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=100016...

Hi Ivan,

Is this host part of an HA cluster? If so then the Virtual Machine Startup and Shutdown configuration does not apply. In fact in vSphere 5.0 Update 1 (I think) the GUI configuration for this is automatically disabled when HA is enabled.

The reasoning for this is that when HA is enabled the VM's aren't necessarily tied to a particular host and could start up on any within an HA cluster. By default HA will automatically restart VM's if they were running before the host failure. If you are trying to handle restarting VM's in the event of a controlled shutdown, such as one performed during a UPS initiated shutdown, then you might need to look at using the vMA and some startup scripts.

Cheers,

Ben Loveday
