Virtualization showdown: Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 vs. VMware vSphere 5.1 | Virtualization - InfoWorld
Your link is obsolete. Compare Hyper-V on Windows Server 2012 R2 vs VMware 5.5 VMware or Microsoft? Comparing vSphere 5.5 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V At-A-Glance - KeithMa...
In my opinion - on paper Hyper-V might win here and there, but what is important is how mature is solution and software, hardware ecosystem. VMware did it perfectly, this matter and this is why VMware is number one on the market.
I've been on the VMware bandwagon since the 3.X days and for awhile they were king.
However MS has stepped up its game bigtime with the latest incarnations of Hyper-V.
I would expect VMware to lose a large marketshare over time to Hyper-V.
I could care less who wins out in the end, as long as it makes my job of managing systems easier that's who I will recommend to managers to purchase for us admins to use. I have no loyalties to any software company.
I think vSphere is a great Product (a bit pricey, but still a great product), and i wouldn´t trust any (at this time of writing) other product with the job of hosting our Servers.
check out this video -> VMware ESXi and Microsoft 2012 Hyper-V ed. at a simulated boot-LUN-crash - YouTube -> one of the things what reminds me for choosing the right product.

What I'd like to see is a non-fanboy review of these products - I've seen a few comparisons and they all seem too skewed in one direction or the other. In particular the Keith Mayer review referred to above. It'd be nice to see a relatively unbiased comparison.
Here you go, check out this from Gartner for unbiased reviews about all x86 Virtualization Software Magic Quadrant for x86 Server Virtualization Infrastructure.
