what's new in vsphere 5.1 licensing

Dear All,

Gone through the www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vsphere_pricing.pdf for licensing policy for vsphere 5.1. Can you please let me know what is the diff between vsphere 5.0 and vsphere 5.1 licensing. Does vRAM option has been removed from vsphere 5.1 licensing?

Yes, vRAM has been removed, so you only have to license per socket. No more limits on vRAM and processor cores.

vSphere 5.1 adds a couple of new features (depending on the edition) like, Enhanced vMotion, Replication, a new backup application as well as other enhancements like up to 64 vSMP.
