warning . "Only live system was updated, while installing NEXUS 1000v to ESXi5.1 .

We have this problem as described below while installing NEXUS 1000v to ESXi5.1  .

The issue we’re seeing is that the VEM is disappearing from the ESXi servers upon
reboot and they are returning with a blank configuration.

Any insight to how to address this problem would be appreciated.

Do you have auto-deploy implemented on your environment?

All configuration is lost? If you try to reboot an ESX without installing VEM, does the configuration rolls back also?

Issue resolved

The issue:

When I migrate server vnics to the 1000V and the ISCSI vmkernel is not pre-created on the VMware switch, it does not provide the proper mount to the ISCSI volume, even though the volume has been mounted to boot from and it looks like it's available to write to.

The fix:

Create the ISCSI vmkernel on the existing VMware switch before migrating the ISCSI port to the 1000V.

Thanks Marcelo
