vsphere syslog coming from the wrong source IP

I enabled syslog on my esx servers pointing to my syslog server. My syslog server has a access list on who can send so I permit the whole vsphere management IP space. For whatever reason 2 boxes are sending the syslog via the vmotion network IPs. The syslog server doesn't sit in either of these segments.

anyone else see this problem?

i haven't given it the old reboot yet.

Can you please share some details about the host's network configuration, i.e. IP addresses, subnet masks, default gateway. Since the host can only have a single default gateway the vMotion network should not even be able to reach the syslog server in another subnet (except you configured static routes)!?

Which VMkernel ports (vmkX) are configured for Management and vMotion?

Perhaps

esxcli system syslog reload

Will help?
