vmware virtual cpu count not changable

Hey all

So i got a vm that's at VM ver 7. Its cpu and core are not changeable via the web client. The VM itself is running SUSE 10 64bit.

The help message says I must be in compliant with the guest OS, number of licensed CPU on a host and number of CPU supported by the OS.

So here is what I am not sure about: I can't give it more cpu/cores because the guest OS is too old or my VM HW version is too old? I don't think I have a license problem cause I got Ent+ license.

Thanks

Please, first let us know how many vCPU you already have assigned to your VM.

Hi Richardson

right now there is only 1 vCPU with 1 core. I want to increase it to two cores.

Did you tried with virtual machine powered on or powered off ? If powered on, try first with VM powered off.
