vmware tools 10240 caused BSOD on Server 2008, exchange 2007?

Hey all,

Just looking to see if anyone else ran into this? I patched one of my hosts to latest version yesterday, and began to update tools on each vm. Shortly after my exchange server blue screened. It ended up doing it 2 more times during the night and in the morning today. I've since uninstalled tools, and put previous version of tools back. It's been fine since.

The dump referenced a vsepflt.sys

You probably want to roll back to version 9.4.15, specially if you need this driver running for agentless protection. Look at this KB article to check if you are experiencing the same symptoms.

You can disable the vsepflt.sys driver to load, here is the KB article. I have seen this couple of times before.

The problem with that workaround is that if you're using vShield agentless protection, you need that driver running on the VM.

That's true! I have come across issues where customers weren'y using vShield!
