vmware-cmd utility

Hi,

To unregister the VM from a host, we use "vmware-cmd utility".

What exactly is "vmware-cmd utility". Is it through command line?

Is there any other option to unregister the VM from a host?

If this is for classic ESX, it is a CLI utility located in the Service Console for performing some command VM operations such as registeration, snapshot and power operations to name a few.

There are two types of hypervizors launched by VMware.

  • ESX (Classic One)
  • ESXi

To differentiate the ESX from ESXi, we used to call ESX as "Classic ESX". Nothing much. You can find out the differences between ESX and ESXI by googling this community.
