vmotion between version ESX4 and ESX3

Hi all, some question about vcenter server 4 and esx4

can esx4 host or hosts do HA/vmotion with esx3 host or hosts ? given that the vCenter server is version 4 ?

can vCenter v4 manage ESX3 ?

Yes, and yes.

We have a couple mixed cluster while we upgrade, and the ESX3/ESX4 machines all do fine vmotioning between each other. HA also works.

Our vCenter 4 also manages ESX3.5 just fine.

As already answered - just ensure you don't upgrade the virtual machine hardware. If you upgrade the hardware to version 7, you won't be able to run the VM's on ESX 3.x

Once all your hosts are running vSphere - then upgrade the hardware.
