vmnic0 down, tried to change from 1000Mb, Full Duplex to 10000Mb, Full Duplex

Now i cant get it up and running again.

i ran the command : esxcfg-nics -l

~ # esxcfg-nics -l

i ran the command : esxcfg-nics -s 1000 -d full vmnic0

and i still get the same status about 0Mbps and Half duplex.

Any solution ?

If you physically switch the cable between ports, still outcome is same??

Cant do that right now, i have 28 servers on it right now.  :smileygrin:

try in one server...

Are you trying to change 10Gbps to 1 Gbps???

This is a HP blade LOM NIC. I suppose you're using Flex-10/Flex-Fabric Virtual Connect blade switches as well and have carved up the bandwidth into multiple FlexNICs.

In this case, don't set static Link speeds on the NICs!

Set the NIC to auto-negotiation instead:

esxcfg-nics --auto vmnic0

Also you should be using the be2net driver for these NICs, at least with ESXi 5.x. What ESX(i) version are you running?

This is a host with 28 servers.

I added the line from MKguy and i will try to restart the hos when all servers are vmotioned away from it.  I made a new blade ready for esxi 5.5

No, this didnt work, i reinstalled the host and did not touch nic's.

I use esxi 5.5 now and the nic's have elxnet drivers.  installed by default.

Anyone know why this happens ?
