E1000 or vmxnet3 are network adapter drivers for virtual machines. Vmkernel is a portgroup like virtual machine portgroup. These are two different things.

Portgroup is an aggregate of ports exhibiting similar functions. VM portgroup is for virtual machine network. vmkernel portgroup is for configuring software iscsi initiator or configuring ESXi management network or for vMotion functionality.

it's not portgroup whenever a vmkernel port gets created it creates the virtual adpater on vSwitch. I am talking about that adapter type that is created by the virtual adapter.

This is a general vmkernel portgroup for Management network of the ESXi host. There is no concept as virtual adapter type for vmkernel.
