vmkernel syslog notice question

We port syslog messages from our ESxi 4.1.0 348481 servers to Kiwi, we use HP dl380G6 Servers.

In the syslog we see frequently the message vmkernel hpilo 0000:01:04.2: Open could not dequeue a packet

We are wondering what this message is about, after searching the internet i cannot find any information about this notice.

Does anybody know something about this and wherther this is normal?

Regards,

It's HP iLo related, programs are allowed to open a channel to query the iLo management processor, that error message shows that ilo is having 'issues' handling the request. What that may be, I've no idea. Why it's showing up in your /messages, I've no idea. Are you using the HP embedded flavour of ESXi? Maybe it's related to their SIM agents they embed in the rom.

If I was looking to troubleshoot this, the first thing I'd do is look at iLo, check your firmware is upto date.

Can you iLo into the server? Has it even been set up? If you're not using iLo then I wouldn't sweat too much.
