can i see the content of it? as above
thanks again
To see whats in a datastore you use ESXi via ssh.
To see whats in a VMDK you use the Centos or whatever you for that VM.
... sorry - I think we have a communication issue - I dont get it.
Thank you Again @continuum
yes you are very right, i couldn't explain my problem to you
I'm trying to explain again with screenshots, please look at the attached files
1. Datatore.png after look
2. Centos Server Disk Usage.png
why data store is %95 full I m going to centos my server used 50% disk details here Centos Server Disk Usage.png
Why does the disk appear full?
I hope I was able to explain.
You have a datastore with a size of 440 GB.
You have one VMDK created with a size of 410 GB.
VMFS metadata and other small files take up another 5GB.
So with about 25 GB of remaining free space your datastore is filled to 95 %.
Is your VMDK thick or thin provisioned ?
What you see makes complete sense !
You may want to do some research on the topic of reclaiming free space when you used a thin provisioned VMDK.
vmkfstools has a punchzeroes function.
By the way - why do you use LVM for your Linux disks ? - only makes live harder in a VM with no benefit at all.
