vmdebug Event

I get the below on many VM's....

The description for Event ID 3 from source vmdebug cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\VMDebug

7.3.4.7

Exactly what is it? Why it pops up and how to get rid of this?

It's not causing anything but just want to keep the Event Logs clean because many customers tend to point to VM issues when it's actually their application or whatever that is going berzerk.

Thanks

vmdebug is installed on the VMS as a part of VMware tools to assist tech support in case of troubleshooting. It is installed [sometimes] as default installation and other wise custom installation [IDK which version of ESX changed this behavior], so if you have installed the vmdebug driver sometime back and while upgrading tools, the driver might not be updated "sometimes"

Either you can disable this driver or you can enable this driver by reinstalling tools only with this option selected in advanced options Smiley Happy
