New to vSphere 4. We have about 100 servers we want to virtualize, some in remote locations. When this process is completed we want to be able to copy vm's to our central office as a backup solution for our remote offices. Does anyone have experience with this, any products/scripts work well? any of programs/techniques to avoid?
Thanks for all the help.
Take a look at Veeam Backup, it has replication capability.

Veaam backup, also see Platespin and of course, if your have a San or NAS that has the ability to replicate, then that will work too.
Any successful personal experience with either of those? Is it possible to do a v2v conversion over the wan to a esx server opened to the internet?
take a look at Double-Take (http://www.doubletake.com/ENGLISH/PRODUCTS/DOUBLE-TAKE-VIRTUALIZATION/Pages/default.aspx)
and VizionCore (http://www.vizioncore.com/products/vRangerPro/)
both are very nice products

Yes, It would be great to know how do people implement the industry best practice in making the backup strategy.
