vm guest operrating system crashed .

hi can anyone help me    . i am using HA in our cluster and its working fine but HA provide me a hardware failover if my one host crash my all vm will be restart on diffrent host   but when my vm guest oerating crashed that time how i can recover my vm with guest operating system   in mininmum downtime without   snapshot i dont want to use snapshot.

plz help me for this

If you have critical virtual machines such as DB server, you can configure FT.

HA can monitor your virtual machine and restart that in any case of failure but if you mean is recover that from a check point, you have many options.
Let me know, what is your concern exactly?

yes it is very critical . because FT support maximum 1 vcpu and we are using 4 vcpu per vm and i want to protect if my vm guest operating system crashed.

how many option i have we are using vsphere 5.5 enterprise  and is FT support if my vm guest opertaing system crashed

As stated HA can be configured to monitor a VM and if it crashes it will be restarted - there are vended options like DoubleTake that will also allow you to recover form an OS crash

You have "vSphere Replication", "Site Recovery Manager" and "Veeam Backup & Replication" as replication software in enterprise level.

I guess, you can use "vSphere Replication" with your license.

For more information, check the SRM and vSphere Replication on VMware site and Veeam BR (You can use it as free edition with some limitations) on Veeam site.

hi weinstein5     DoubleTake   sounds good is this feature support if my guest operating system crash .and    this can configure in our vsphere we are using esxi 5.5 enterprise so can we use this feature with this or i have to buy a licence for this . i have configured HA with vm monitoring so it will work if my vm guest operating system crash like linux os .

can you guide me

Double Take is not a VMware product but made by Vision Solutions - and will require an additional license -
