our current setup is we have esx 3.5 running serveral virutal servers servers, and a separate windows 2003 server runing exchange 2003, that also runs veritas backup exec 11d and is connected to our tape drive.
we are getting a new esx server, version 4 (not going to 5 yet), and will be converting the exchange server into a virtual server and running it off of the esx 4 server.
we will be keeping the original exchange server running (renaming it) as it will continue to run backup exec 11d and connect to the tape drive.
what is the best way in this scenario of backup up our exchange data since it will now be on the esx server?
purchase an additional exchange remote agent?
someone mentioned to me that there is a virtualization agent for Symantec, would that be a better solution?
