Hello,
we have copied a virtual machine folders from an ESXi 6.0.0 to a ESXi 4.1.0. and added to inventory, but but it appears in unknown state.
Also We have also tried to convert it using the converter but it fails showing error "FAILED: fault.DeviceUnsupportedForVmVersion.summary".
Any idea?
Help will be appreciated.
Regards.
Rob.
Hello @benito1 ,
1) The message "FAILED: fault.DeviceUnsupportedForVmVersion.summary" does indicate incompatibilities with the VM Hardware version.
Check the Hardware version of the VM being imported and see if your ESXI 4.1 support it or not. This will be available to you in the Summary page of the VM in the vCenter.

ESXi/ESX hosts and compatible virtual machine hardware versions list :

2) If the version is higher there are two ways to proceed :
a) Use VMware vCenter Converter Standalone.
b) Create a new virtual machine with required hardware version and attach the existing disk from the virtual machine.
