vim.fault.InvalidTicket when launching VMRC shorcut - vSphere

Hi,

Anyone come across this as yet?, I have created a desktop shortcut to a VM from the web access which works fine - but what this connection does is prompts the user to enter their credentials. What I am trying to acheive is to automate entering the credentials. The parameters for my shortcut are:-

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\VMware Remote Console Plug-in\vmware-vmrc.exe" -X -h Virtualcenter:443 -u userid -p password -M vm-1573

But when I launch this I get the error which is attached

The error is vim.fault.Invalid Ticket

help please!!

would really like to get this in place as targeting the virtual centre instead of the host would benefit us no end

Many Thanks

Neaker

Did you ever get a resolution to this?  I too would like to be able to pass authentication via vmware-rc command line.  Though -u -p are supposed to work, it doesn't.

I note the Boomerang utility is able to passthrough the authentication, with the command line:

vmware-vmrc.exe -h (servername) -M (vmid) -u (username) -P

And presumably that's going through an API as described here

But that doesn't help me from a command line.  Better still would be able to have a passthrough authentication like you can have for the VI Client.
