versions and builds of vmware tools and esxi

Hi.

which are versions/build of vmware tools for each esxi build?

For example: esxi build 1157734, which is version of vmware tools?? Does it a list?

I'm not aware of such a list. However, combining the information from the below mentioned links should help.

Take a look at VMware Product Interoperability Matrixes and check the ESXi version and check which version of vmware tools is compatible

It's ok, but I need info about build for vmware tools from esxi 5.1 build 1157734, so I could know if my version from vmware tools is correct or I need update it.

Hey opalomino,

I doubt the version of tools is mentioned anywhere. The way to verify it is, if you are not running the latest version you will get a warning on the summary tab of a VM telling "Running(out-of-date)" which means you have to upgrade your tools. If its compliant it will say just "Running" with a symbol of green tick.

One way to find out is to look at the entry in manifest.txt file.

# find / -name vmtools folder

# mount the ISO,

#open manifest.txt file and find out the tag "vmtoolsd.version"

you can also find out the vmtools drivers version as well in manifest.txt
