vcenter service status

Hi All,

I am getting 2 alert message from the vcenter service status.

vcenter management webservices   - unable to retrieve healt data from https://<vc name>:8433/vws/query/health

vcenter server - unable to retrieve health date from https://vc name:443/vpdxhealth

I just changed the setting virtualcenter.vimwebservicesurl to reflect the vcenter ip address but the above vc name is still not showing the correct ip address.

Instead it showing server name, which has a '-'.

How do I update this to reflect the vcenter ip address.

Am using vcenter 4.1.0 .

Thanks in advance.

Did you actually rename your vCenter server?

This fix should work.

Or you could just reinstall vCenter.

No I did not, the <vc name> is not displaying the correct vcenter name either.

I think its displaying the name that is assigned to it the first time windows was installed.

I have subsequenty changes the server name quite a while back, but its still displaying old name.

Check if have registry with fqdn in dns ofmyour vcenter and hosts vmware correctly. Check too if dont have any wrong entry in dns. Try disable firewall of vcenter to test  Good luck

Has this been happening since you renamed the vcenter server? Does your new server name have any characters Tomcat considers invalid? See below:
