vcenter applicance on phisical server

Hello everybody.

I want to install vcenter server applicance 5.5 on phisical machine. And i can't find any guides how to do this. I download vcenter ISO, burn it to usb, but it's not bootable. Internet search gives me nothing.

Is this possible to install vcenter server applicance on phisical machine? or i must install hypervisor first and then vcenter on it.

Hi,

you can't install the appliance on hardware.

The appliance gives you a VM that runs on an ESXi server.

If you want to use vCenter on a physical server (which is not considered best practice anymore by VMware), you have to use the windows installer and install on top of a Windows server.
