vSphere flash read cache : cannot add capacity

Hi,

I am trying to set-up the vSphere flash read cache to test the performances but when I try to "add capacity", my host's SSD drives are not listed.

I have tried several setup like unmount them, remount them, etc... and they are listed well in the storage configuration of the host ....

Any idea ?

Thx in advance.

Thx for your response.

Problem is now solved. This was not this case of not tagged as SSD, but the drives wasn't recognize as local drives.

Changed that with esxcli command then reboot the hosts and now the SSD appears in the "add capacity"

Probably your SSDs are not detected as SSD. Try set it up manually:

VMware KB: Enabling the SSD option on SSD based disks/LUNs that are not detected as SSD by default
