vSphere V4i - Automated Installation

Does anyone know of a way to automate the installation of V4i, I have a scripted kickstart installation that works with the full v4 product, but want to port this to the 4i product. The script is not so much to do with the vSphere installation, it's more to do with creating scripts and setting passwords etc. My challenge so far:

v4i does not support kickstart scripts, I therefore have possibly two options:

1. Include my installation script on the CDROM, , using the 'UNSUPPORTED' login approach then attempt to mount the CDROM and run the custimisation script. My issue with this is I cannot mount the CDROM, it maybe simple but, but I'm failing.

2. Find a way to automatically run a custom script once the standard installation is complete, this would be my preferred, but I've not found any documentation relating to this method.

Any suggestions or alterntive idea's welcomed.

Thanks

Duncan

The only way I know to do this is to install ESXi in a default setup and then use PowerCLI to automate the customization.

1. Kickstart file is not supported in ESXi.

2. You can use vCLI to automate the custom configuration after installation. Please refer to the vCLI document for more information.
