vSphere Support Subscription vs Per Incident?

Hi,

I have a question regarding support.  We've just had a renewal quote for a 1yr support subscription for vCenter Standard and 8 processors for ESXi.  We've not used any support since we've implemented vSphere, what are the benefits of a subscription over a per incident basis, as this is much cheaper?

Thanks

Ok, found this "VMware per-incident support is valid for one year after purchase and does not include product updates or upgrades", thought this might be covered with the initial license purchase.

Subscription entitles you to upgrade to new version free of charge. Support may be less expensive on a per incident basis, however it also depends on how many support cases you have. Support is like an insurance, you're usually happy if you don't need it, but knowing you have an insurance lets you "sleep" better.
