vSphere Hypervisor Install Fails

I am trying to install vSphere 5.0.0 and I keep getting and error:

1368: could not start pcpu 1

My system is an Acer M3920 with an i7 2600 CPU.  I have the latest BIOS firmware installed.

Is there anything in the BIOS settings that I need to turn on or off particularly?  I have tried it with the CPU virtualization option both on and off (I'm assuming it should be on).  The only difference with it off is that it complains about pcpu 3 instead.

Any suggestions on what to try next?

Welcome to the community.

See in BIOS option "Max CPUID Value Limit " to Enable.

If its enabled disable that and enable VT and VT-X.

Try installing it should work.

I'm not seeing that option in the BIOS on my system.  Under Advanced Chipset Configuration I see the following options:

Intel EIST - Enabled

Intel Turbo Boost - Enabled

Intel AES-NI - Disabled

Intel XD Bit - Enabled

Intel VT - Enabled

It doesn't look like I can toggle the max CPUID option.  I'm guessing my hardware will not work with vSphere Hypervisor 5 then.
