vSphere ESXi - VM swap file location - filling dedicated LUN

Hi,

Just taken over a large vSphere environment from an Admin who wrote nothing down. He has configured all VM swap files to be placed on a dedicated LUN, this LUN is now filling up. So if I wish to place the VM swap files with the VM's other files I have to edit [ and connect to each Host] , but what would be the effect on the live environment?

would all vm's need to be rebooted?

and ofcourse I'll need to map size of swap file to VMDK location to make sure I don't accidently fill a VM's production LUN.

Thanks.

If you edit the swap file location, vm require the reboot.

Excellent, thanks. I assume this would also explain why I can't create any new vm's from a template even when I set the swap file to be local.
