I have a Q170 based motherboard and have successfully loaded ESXi 6.5.0. However, ESXi does not display any Hardware Sensor Data and reports "No Sensor Data Available".
Does ESXi require BMC or IMPI to obtain hardware database? Does it not get at least basic sensor information from the CPU sensors, etc.?
I have exactly the same problem.
After upgrading the Windows 5.5 vCenter to VCenter 6.5 U2 Appliance most of the Hardware sensors stopped to work as it didbefore in vCenter 5.5.
We have diferente model of HPE Proliant Servers all with the same issue.
Did anyone get a solution for this problem already?
Could you please elaborate a bit on "native c client" directly able to successfully obtain CPU temperature data from ESXI host?
we are running into similar problem with ESXI 7.0 and ASUS desktop motherboard (no ipmi capability). We would like to use any custom C code available to run on the cli to view the cpu temperatures please.
