vSphere - Customization Specification Manager

Hi All,

I appear to be missing all different target Virtual Machine OS under Customization Specification Manager. I wish to create templates for Windows 2003 R2 and Windows 2008 R2. How do I go about adding these?

Create 2 specifications for 2008 and 2003, and give them different names - that's all you can do.

If you've installed vcentre on a windows 2008 server the locaion has changed.

Wouldn't this create the same SID for each VM deployed?

I have copied the right sysprep files / version to the w2003 folder and still no luck.

The only thing I've noticed is that the "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep\ isn't" valid via command prompt but "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep" is valid.

Any ideas?

Make sure you are copying the files to the docs and settings directory on your vCenter server.

2008 does not need the sysprep files, so either way you should be able to deploy 2008 with the guest cust specs.
