vSphere 6.0 disk space usage tab...

Good morning everyone,

in vsphere 5.x there was a tab which showed the disk usage of all or the selected vms.

To make it short where did it go in vsphere 6.0 or did they remove it altogether? If so, how does one get the information now?

Regards

Are you talking about in the desktop client or the web client?

I know in the desktop client you could look at a list of virtual machines and right click the list header and add a column that showed disk space usage. Same in the web client I believe, you have to add the column.

Good morning,

I was talking about the tab in the list of vms where one could see the size of the vms the size of snapshots etc. I don't remember seeing it in the web client but in the windows client and I didn't have to add it separately. Unfortunately I don't recall how it was called in English in German it was Speicheransichten might be that it was called datastore views or similar.

Hello all,

obviously the storage views tab is no more in vSphere 6.0, why - I suppose that's a secret only known to VMware. A lot of my customers used it to check for left over snapshots and the size of their vms. Sure one can check for the mentioned values in other ways but only one vm at the time and not with a quick overall view.

I wonder what VMware wants us to use instead. Since the hotline is surely not able to answer such a question it will remain a mystery.

Regards and a good day to you all.

Webclient,

Datastores, top level DC, related opjects, virtual machines.

You should see the info there.

Edit:Just realized I only have access to 5.5 here, doesn't this work from 6 ?
