vSphere 5.0 Poor network performance

Hi,

I am having trouble with network performance, only getting around 5% utilisation of 1GB.

HP NC107i NIC

Copies between a PC and NAS are full speed, copies from ESX-PC or ESX-NAS are very slow.  I have swapped ports, cables etc.

Also tried fixing 1000 Full, no difference.

Can anybody offer me advise on how to resolve this?

Dan

When you're testing ESXi is it transfers from and to the host itself?  How is the performance of a VM running on the host?

To the hosts, i.e. datastore upload.  Pushing up the template 40gb, took 3 hours or so...

I am setting up a vCenter machine currently, it seems a little sluggish but thats probably as I only gave it one CPU.  I'll up that.

When i'm up and running i'll test transfers to the VM itself and post any differences.
