vSphere 4.0 benchmarking

Hi,

We have recently built a vSphere 4.0 U2 cluster with 3 IBM HS22 blade servers (2 socket 6 core 2.93Ghz CPU & 96GB mem)

Each server have 2 onboard NICs and an add on Bcomm 10G 2 port card connected via the Nexus 4001i to our core switches. The storage these are connected to are LUNs out of DMX4 and EMC NS960 (Celerra)

I am planning to assign 2 LUNs- one from each array (500GB, R5) to the ESX hosts and format them as VMFS4 volumes and present them finally to some windows 2008 R2 VM's for testing.

Could someone please guide me a a place or advice what i can use (and how to set up) a load testing mechanism (CPU, Mem & disk) on these servers so that i can cap the max no. of VM's (e.g. 2CPU,4 GB type) that this cluster can have. I also need to stress test the ESX for the same.

Any used cases would be helpful too.

Regards,

A
