vSAN

How does vSAN work for esxi 6.7

is it where it shares storage from each esxi host in a cluster.

or

is it where you can have a storage array with say 20 SSD in a raid 5 and install vm's across the raid array. and it connects to it over the network or via fiber cables on the back of a blade center say?

However, in short, vSAN pools together the directly attached disks from the hosts, requiring a minimum of 3 hosts, and at least 1 SSD

This is different to traditional storage that uses fibre channel, iSCSI etc to access SAN based storage

hi imacfj,

if i wanted to can i set up a RAID 5 in a server say and connect to a blade chassis via fiber cables if i wanted to and use storage that way.
