vMotions Limit Per Datastore

In vMotions why there is limit of number of vMotions is 128 Per Datastore. What kind of involvement is required from the datastore in vMotion?

that's what i knew my question that vMotion is not moving the vm files from one datastore to another it's only moving the vm from one host to another then what kind of involvement is required from the datastore in vmotion?

There still has to be locks placed on the datastore for managing the meta data, etc.
