Hello, i did a small DR tests , below my actions:
1 I stopped 5 VMs in my vCenter (these 5 VMs are on DataStore1).
2. I copied backups of these 5 VMs to other datastore (Datastore2) than originals VMs.
3 I registered these 5 VMs in vCenter
4. And i started then my 5 copied VMs , and magic , system didn’t ask me for nothing , just stared VMs
Why vcenter didn’t ask if they are copied or moved ?????
For example i compared MAC of the original powered off VM and copied running VM and was different mac - so I assume that system decided "I copied". - but why ??. I want to use I moved
This is only for DR test, when I check that copied VM from backup works correctly I will delete them, and run again original VMs
