vCenter Host Login

i have upgraded to vCenter 5.1 from 5.0. the problem i am running into now is one of my host are not reconnecting. it tells me that the is an invalid username or password. when trying to connect to the one host. if i disconnect the host will it affect any of the VM's that are running on it. as i have a few VM's that are mission critical and can not have them go down. or is there a way to re enter the username and password
