vCenter 6.7, ESXi 6.7, and Horizon 7.4 compatibility

We have 7 brand new HPE DL380 Gen10 servers. We would like to install ESXi 6.7 on them. I went here

https://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide2/sim/interop_matrix.php

I entered this combination

  • VMware Horizon 7 with a version of 7.4.0
  • VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) with a version of 6.7.0

It showed that ESXi 6.7.0 and Horizon 7.4.0 are compatible

I then entered this combination

  • VMware Horizon 7 with a version of 7.4.0
  • VMware vCenter Server with a version of 6.7.0

There are no results shown!

ESXi 6.7.0 is compatible with Horizon 7.4.0

You cannot run ESXi 6.7.0 without running vCenter 6.7.0

Is vCenter 6.7.0 compatible with Horizon 7.4.0?

Introducing VMware vSphere 6.7! - VMware vSphere Blog

"

VMware Horizon 7.4 is not compatible with the Instant Clone API used in vSphere 6.7.  Instant Clone support for vSphere 6.7 will be available in an upcoming Horizon release. Existing NSX, VIC and VIO customers are advised not to upgrade to vSphere 6.7 until compatible versions become available.

Since we do not use instant clone, can we run vCenter 6.7 with Horizon 7.4?

We do not use NSX, VIC, or VIO

It's strange

But interoperability matrixe says that VC 6.7 is not supported with Horizon 7.4, however ESXi 6.7 is supported with Horizon 7.4

I would double check this statement with VMware Technical Support.

But maybe Horizon 7.4.1 which was released 17 April is supported with vSphere 6.7

However there is no clear statement in release notes

I opened a support ticket this morning about this, as soon as I hear back I will let you know. Here is the most important question:

If we run ESXi 6.7, vCenter 6.7, Horizon 7.4, and we DO NOT use instant clones, is this a supported configuration. I do not want to run any configuration that is not supported

ESXi 6.7, vCenter 6.7, and Horizon 7.4 is not a supported configuration according to the support engineer I talked to after I opened a ticket. In other words, if you have this configuration and open a ticket, they will not offer assistance. I know a lot of people also use Veeam for backup and it will not work with vCenter 6.7 in its current version. An update to Veeam is in the works that will make it compatible

I also tried Horizon 7.5 with VCSA 6.7 and didnt work for Instant Clones. Not sure what the cure will be at the moment.
