I have a vmware template that I want to use on two different clusters, and two different instances of vcenter. Both clusters have access to the datastore that the template vm is on. The template VM is not registered on the second vmware instance and cluster. Can I just browse the datastore and register the template using the .vmtx file in the new vcenter instance and cluster? are there any issues with having it registered in multiple vcenter instances at the same time? or do I need to copy it?
Yes, I had tried this once on 2 vCenter 5.5 instances and It works fine.
Same template can be registered on 2 different vCenter instances & VMs can be deployed from that template on both vCenter (inside cluster or on standalone host).
