why is it that when a vm has the unlimited box unchecked, the vm behaves very slow? a vm with 4gb of mem assigned and a limit of
780157mb makes it acts very slow. but checking the unlimited box make it a lot better
I've seen some quirky behaviors like this before and I wish I knew the answer. Is the host's memory fairly heavily used? It might be possible that in a memory contention scenario a VM with a limit (no matter how high) has a slightly lower priority for resources. That's just a theory, however, and not fact.
I would just do my best to make sure everything is set to unlimited.
yes I would understand it to be slow if the limit was set to say 2gb with an assignd memory of 4gb. but the limit by default is way above 4gb.
