unable to see disk shares on SIOC enabled datastore

Hi Team

I have enabled SIOC on a datastore and placed a VM on it.
On the existing VM HDD nor when I add a new HDD, I do not see options for disk shares.

snippets attached.

Any suggestion here

I think its not related with SIOC , did you check disable SIOC and disk share option

what account you are using to login to vCenter, try with administrator@vsphere.local , I can see it in my setup in vCenter 7 and esxi 7, without having storage I/O control enabled

thank you for replying!

On version 7, I too see the disk share option however I do not see it on version 8

on the datastore, all the options for SIOC are enabled. I even created a datastore cluster and then to I could not see the option.

As per this document vSphere 8 too have disk shares option

https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/8.0/vsphere-vm-administration/GUID-43C5C345-716F-41F4-AEEA...

Try different browser for vSphere client , try different VMs too, just in case.

From the screenshots, it looks like you are using local storage!?

From https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.resmgmt.doc/GUID-37CC0E44-7BC7-479C...
"Storage I/O Control is supported on Fibre Channel-connected, iSCSI-connected, and NFS-connected storage. Raw Device Mapping (RDM) is not supported. "

When I try to provision VM on vSphere 7 then it shows disk shares options

but for some reason vCenter 8 is not showing it

@a_p_  do you have a lab to verify the same?
