unable to power on VM

Hi

I am facing issue with one of the vsphere host. I am unable to power on VM. when I try to power on the VM, getting an error message "

Failed to power on VM

Could not power on VM, No space left on device

Failed to extend swap file from 0KB to 4194304KB

Need help ..?

Have you checked the resolutions given in the following KB-articles: VMware KB: A virtual machine fails to power on with the error: Failed to extend swap file from 0 KB ... and VMware KB: Powering on a virtual machine fails with the error: Failed to

extend swap file from 0 KB to xxxx KB

It's most likely to be a free space left on the associated datastore problem. So check if you can free up some space there.

Hi,

as cykVM said it is a problem with free space on the datastore. If you are running out of free space and need the VM to be started, reserve some part of memory to it. (Swap space = virtual memory size - memory reserved).
