What kind of NAS system do you use?

Does the NAS systems support the required protocol versions?

Did you export the NFS share with the required permissions?

QNAP NAS

i give required permission for shared folder to access

The problem i suspecting  is ESXi having Public IP address and QNAP is having Local IP address

Are you able to ping the NAS IP from ESXi? Have you created a separate vmkernel port for NFS or using the management vmkernel? Share the screenshot of the error.

Cheers,

The first thing would be to sort out the networking part. Once we are able to ping the NAS device from the ESXi host, other things can be checked if the issue persist.

And to quote you here

ESXi having public IP address

ESXi should never, ever have a public IP address assigned to it. Not ever. This needs to be internal, private infrastructure you build.

You have to create a VMK on ESXi which is located into the same subnet as your NAS. Try vmkping to ping the NAS from ESXi.

The share you have created on the NAS need the "no root squash" option or how they call it. By default the user "root" have no permissions on a NFS Share but ESXI mounts the Share as "root".

Joerg
