unable to install exsi 7 on poweredge R420

I have a dell poweredge R420, when I tried to install esxi7, the software only detect the Usb stick but not the drives. Can some please let me know how do I go about fixing this issue?

You need a PERC Hxxx* and not the software base S1xx controller in that server. If you have shared storage around(NAS, SAN) you can use a USB, SD medium as installation drive for the ESXi OS.

* If you have a real PERC dont forget to create a Virtual Disks (RAID) first and than start the installation!
