unable to find a supported device to write the vmware esxi 4.1.0 image to

I Have a Dell Poweredge R410 (service tag XXJ1FQ1) with a Raid 10 for PERC s300 Controller with 4X250GB hard disks.

I've downloaded the ESXI 4.1.0 iso and can boot from DVD, but after agreeing to the terms. The installer fails and I get this error:

"Unable to find a supported device to write the VMware ESXI 4.1.0 image to."

I've checked the compatibilty website: http://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide2/detail.php?deviceCategory=server&productid=4932&deviceCateg...

And my system should be OK.

Did anyone else run into this issue? And how do I get around this?

Easy.  You can't use the s300 card.

s300's only work in windows environments.  I too learned this the hard way.  (Thanks Dell!)

Pick up a Perc 6/i and you'll be good to go.
