    Create virtual machine snapshot

    XXXXXX

    Cannot create a

    quiesced

    snapshot

    because the

    create snapshot

    operation

    exceeded the

    time limit for

    holding off I/O

    in the frozen

    virtual machine.

This issue occurs because the I/O in the virtual machine is high and the quiescing operation is unable to flush all the data to disk, while further I/O is created.

This issue may also occur if you try creating a quiesced snapshot on a virtual machine which does not have free space. That is, if the free space on the virtual machine is 0 bytes.

Has backup worked before on this VM? Maybe (not sure) re-installing VMware Tools can help (see e.g. http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1007696)

    Hi,

It looks like VSS issue. Have you tried custom installation of VMware Tools and uncheck VSS . Also in the Event Viewer of the vm what is the event no you are seeing as reported when snapshot fails. Could you paste that here.

    Hi,

This issue can occur because of less space, also check if you have some hidden snapshot files on the datastore ?

and even check the Vmid and try consolidating it using CLI.
