HI, i have vm with 2008r2, want to format it, i have attache the os image but am unable to boot form cd, whenever vm rebooting it's booting form harddisk
Hi, open vm setting go options tab--> select boot option from list and tick mark the Force Bios setup.
wht it will do, it will enter into the BIOS setup of VM in next bootup. In BIOS setup you need to give 1st priority to CD/DVD rom drive to boot . now save the bios and restart the VM. you are done.
Now it will boot from CD or DVD what evever ISO image etc.

An alternative to changing the boot order as mentioned by masudhussain is to configure a boot delay for the VM (e.g. 5000 milliseconds) which gives you enough time to press the ESC key for the boot device selection on the boot screen.

... also make sure you enabled "Connect at power on" for the virtual CD-ROM drive.
