snmp

what is different esxi snmp trap and vcenter alarms ? i want to use vcenter alarms .if i dont use esxi snmp trap how will problem or What i could not follow with snmp

Alarms are configured to trigger when specific events or conditions occurs in your vSphere inventory. An alarm can trigger an action that can be: send an email, SNMP trap or run a command. If you don't use SNMP in your environment, you can use alarm to send e-mails to inform you when problems occurs.

if i use snmp for esxi host . how i can monitor or how to work it ? so how i will understand a problem with snmp configuration
