I think I have replied to this thread before..

The Answer is NO. ESXi does not use sgutils or sg driver in 5.0

There is no sg drivers, since VMkernel takes care of the handling and I am pretty sure that it is Vmware's properiotary driver to handle the device calls and provide user with the device and the files.

I understand that LSI mpt2sas driver work on the EXSi 5.0 .

So can we use this driver for the scsi call and if yes, how to go about it?

If no, what VMWare proprietary driver is used and is there anything similiar to lsscsi as in linux that communicate to the drive?
