hi,
i have two 3Tb disks in raid 0 on regular SATA ports but esxi shows them as two separate disks
a similar raid on my sas 2308 controller does show the correct disk information through a "ls /vmfs/devices/disks"
my sata controller is defined by Vsphere as a "Wellsburg raid controller"
the (boot) ssd disk on another sata port of my esxi server does work fine.
anything i can do to fix this or research further?
If the disks are seen as two individual disks, your RAID controller is most likely a software (fake) RAID controller, which requires additional OS drivers to be able to use the disks as a RAID set. However, ESXi doesn't support this RAID controller, but requires a real hardware RAID controller, which transparently presents the disks as a single volume to the OS. Since you mentioned RAID0 you may optionally create two separate datastores, one on each disk,

Use the manufacture custom ISO to install ESXi.
